
• • The question was asked by Derek Prouse, deputy film critic of The Sunday Times [UK]. In 1964, Prouse was in the Paris apartment of Marlene Dietrich on the elegant Avenue Montaigne, peppering the film legend with a lot of interesting questions about her days attached to Paramount Pictures.
• • “Not at all true," replied Dietrich. "Mae West was very kind to me. And she’s such a witty woman.”
• • Born in Berlin in the month of December, Marlene Dietrich [27 December 1901 — 6 May 1992] was a German-born American actress and singer. In 1999 the American Film Institute named Dietrich the ninth greatest female star of all time.
