Mae West: Lotsa SEX in November

Since MAE WEST's play "Sex" is back on the boards — — giving Mae-mavens one more reason to be thankful in November — — some Chicago columnists and bloggers have mentioned the production in passing.
• • "Feast of Fun" blogger Marc Felion wrote: The Prologue Theater Company has brought Mae West's play, "Sex," back to life, staging the comedy in a series of rooms located in an old historical mansion on the edge of Lake Michigan.
• • Mae faced the wrath of the New York City moralists because "Sex" features a brazen unapologetic sex worker, who after a series of misadventures, falls in love and lives happily ever after. Mae West wrote the play for herself because she was no longer content with playing the good little girl mistaken for a hooker or the working girl that ends up dead in the gutter.
• • Mae loved playing hookers — — in "Klondike Annie" she plays a hooker turned showgirl and kept woman . . . . [FROM: Chicago Now BY: Marc Felion 3 November 2009].
• • "Sex" by Mae West runs from October 29th — November 21st, 2009 on a Thursday — Saturday schedule at 8:00 pm at the North Lakeside Cultural Center.
• • WHERE: The North Lakeside Cultural Center is located at 6219 N. Sheridan Road, Chicago, Illinois.
