• • Naturally, Britain's Fab Four wrote personally to the Hollywood vamp, who then agreed to join Fred Astaire, Marlon Brando, Karl Marx, and others on the cover of the Beatles' latest album, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, which was released 40 years ago . . . we'd like to say today. . . but, in fact, this album was released 1 June 1967 in the United Kingdom.
