New York City, Mae West's hometown (and mine), was a cauldron of smoke-fed fear and unimaginable horror on 11 September 2001.
• • Innocent people, gathering inside the World Trade Center for peaceful purposes and/ or work-related duties, were blasted by madmen in the sky. Lucky were those who managed to get out of the North Tower or the South Tower before these iconic skyscrapers collapsed in flames.
• • The United States was changed forever on that date and the days following.
• • Remember us in The Big Apple today, on September 11th, as New Yorkers come together to mourn the loved ones we lost.

• • "While the storm clouds gather far across the sea,
• • Let us swear allegiance to a land that's free,
• • Let us all be grateful for a land so fair,
• • As we raise our voices in a solemn prayer."
• • God Bless America,
• • Land that I love.
• • Stand beside her, and guide her
• • Thru the night with a light from above.
• • From the mountains, to the prairies,
• • To the oceans, white with foam
• • God bless America, My home sweet home.
