Auctioneer Reeman Dansie described Lot # 759 as "some Paramount pictures, some film stills, some signatures." Also to be sold are rare pictures of Carole Lombard, Marlene Dietrich, Bing Crosby, Clark Gable, and other film stars.

• • In the summer of 1926, when she was starring in "Sex," Mae West performed at a charity benefit at New York's Polo Grounds and on the same bill was 35-year-old Hazel Dawn, a member of the original Ziegfeld Follies in 1907.
• • Born in Ogden, Utah, to a Mormon family, pretty Hazel Dawn was a stage, film, and TV actress. A 14-year-old Adele Astaire, sister of Fred, watched "The Pink Lady" starring Hazel Dawn and became a lifelong fan along with actress Ruth Gordon.
• • Hazel Dawn died in Manhattan, at the home of her daughter, on Sunday, 28 August 1988. She was 97.
