• • Hilary Lynn wrote: I must have looked rather astonished, because the gentleman from Cambridge leaned across the tea table continued. "Was that a shocking thing to say?" he asked, quite alarmed. "Will people misunderstand me?" He hesitated for a moment. "But it's true, you know," he said.

• • Paul Cavanagh: Mae West's co-star, "Goin' to Town" • •
• • Hilary Lynn wrote: "And I'll tell you another thing which will amaze you as much... Mae West is the most non-committal member of a sex which spends half its life committing itself! She'll never admit anything! You will never know what she's thinking."
• • Hilary Lynn wrote: What? Our silver screen paragon of female frankness, our straight-from-the-shoulder, beautiful-but-bolder "Klondike Annie" is non-committal?
• • Mae West: Our one-of-a-kind Miss West • • …

• • “Goin’ to Town” • •
• • Ann Ross wrote: Mae West is back with an assortment of new wisecracks, and at least fifteen pounds added weight. The weight, it must be admitted, is better distributed than the wisecracks. Some of the latter are new and funny, some are old but still funny because of the grim punctuality with which Mae delivers them; and practically all of them occur in the first half-dozen scenes. …
