A number of items owned by MAE WEST were sold on Tuesday, 6 December 1994 at Christie's as part of their "Film and Television Memorabilia" auction. The proceedings were conducted in their New York City location.
• • On Tuesday, 6 December 1994 a fan purchased Mae's white painted upright piano and bench. The price realized was $12,650, four times the estimate.
• • On Tuesday, 6 December 1994 a Mae maven bought 2 Alfred Barris cardboard wig boxes, both inscribed on the label in green ink Miss Mae West; together with a hairpiece of short blond curls; and a black velvet hair bow. The price realized was $368, decidedly under the auctioneer's estimate.
• • On Tuesday, 6 December 1994 up for bid was some artwork, for instance, a vintage gouache on two partial celluloids of Mae West reclining in her shell chaise lounge, from the cartoon Crazy Eights; and, gouache on partial celluloid of the title Crazy Eights Take Your Time Big Boy! (size: 10 1/2 x 12 1/2 and similar). The price realized was $1,265, three times the estimate.
• • On Tuesday, 6 December 1994 on the block was an oval giltwood mirror in the Continental Rococo style (size: 44½ in. high, 36 wide); together with an oval mirror in a brown wood fluted frame (size: 36 in. high, 28 wide). The price realized for this lot was $1,955, though Christie's had estimated about $300.
• • On Tuesday, 6 December 1994, the bargain of the auction, a sale that listed dozens of Mae West's possessions, was a group of three plaster holy figures; an egg painted and decorated to represent Mae West; a group of thirteen plastic composite monkeys playing various musical instruments. The price realized was $207, decidely under the auctioneer's estimate of $300 — $550.

• • On Tuesday, 5 December 1933, the night Prohibition was repealed, while Mae was being photographed in a Hollywood speakeasy with Gary Cooper, her sister was performing in Chicago, Illinois. Beverly had bookings for her popular "Mae West Act" in the heartland during most of the winter of 1933.
• • According to a newspaper reporter: Beverly West, actress Mae West’s little sister, recalled that an usher on the house staff of a theatrical production that she was starring in ran to the stage and handed her a drink. She said, “I downed it before you could bat an eye. After all, I learned everything I know from my sister!”
