Mae West: Boston Bling

MAE WEST is on her way to MFA Boston.

• • The Museum of Fine Arts has planned a fascinating exhibit:  “Hollywood Glamour: Fashion and Jewelry from the Silver Screen.”  As you might expect, this display will hit the highlights of the jewelry and the fabulous outfits that made much of the stylish allure of major screen stars of the 1930s and 1940s, from clothes-horse Gloria Swanson, Swedish beauty Greta Garbo, Anna May Wong, handsome Joan Crawford, Marlene Dietrich, and a very petite Mae West, who used huge platform shoes to enhance that long-legged illusion.  Costumes and fashions by Travis Banton, Chanel, Adrian, and other designers will be paired with glitter and glitz. During the show, highlights from famous films will be shown.
