• • Journalist Dick West, based in Washington, DC, reported for United Press.  Dick West wrote: Muscular Mickey Hargitay, the 1956 “Mr. Universe,” charged Thursday that he was knocked out by Mae West’s boy friend Wednesday night in a brawl in her night club dressing room. Hargitay, a member of Mae’s muscle man “chorus line,” filed assault charges against Chuck Krauser, another muscular member of the troupe, as a result of a backstage battle at a local nightspot. The fight started during a news conference that Miss West, 64, had scheduled.
