"Myra Breckinridge" [1970] starring MAE WEST, and directed by Michael Sarne, was a curious 94 minute adaptation of Gore Vidal's novel. Michael Stearns was featured as a Stud.

• • Born in Lincoln, Nebraska in the month of June — — on Tuesday, 18 June 1940 — — Michael Stearns grew up to be tall with leading man looks. By 1968, when he was 28 years old, he made his first appearance on TV in a popular series "Lancer" (a "Bonanza" clone) about a struggling rancher in California and his sons.
• • The six-foot-four newcomer was rapidly cast in modest roles and got his chance to be in scenes with randy Leticia Van Allen portrayed by Mae West in 1970.
• • From 1968 — 1982, Michael Stearns participated in 33 projects for the movies and for TV. Though his handsome face only led to minor league status onscreen, he did manage to appear in a few motion picture classics. For instance, he was the policeman in "The Amityville Horror" [1979]. Playing real-life homeowner George Lutz was James Brolin; Brolin played Jim Timony in the TV bio-pic "Mae West" [1982].
• • It seems that Michael Stearns will celebrate his 73rd birthday today. Wherever he is, we wish him all the best.

• • Born on 15 August 1879, Ethel Barrymore died in the month of June — — on Thursday, 18 June 1959. Praised for her work on the stage, Ethel was an Academy Award-winning screen actress and a member of the famous Barrymore family.
